Phase 1: 2015-16
Acquisition and Planning
Proposal and preliminary architectural drawings by Rudi Rodriguez.
Favorable meetings with school superintendent and BISD School Board.
Public-school board meeting with successful acquisition vote.
Development of architectural confirmations, historical context, restoration plans, and specifications.
Phase 2: 2016-17
Initial Site Work
Site confirmations and initial clean-up by volunteers.
Site plan and landscape plan developed.
Cedar trees and debris removed with hired machinery.
Definition of grass, walking, and storage areas.


Phase 3: 2017-18
Interior and Structural Stabilization
Interior cleaned of debris.
Walls, floors, and ceilings cleaned and washed.
Stabilization of windows, doors, ceilings, and floors.
Phase 4: 2018-19
Utility and Roofing Improvements
Request for new utility service.
Installation of new electric pole, ANSL, and electric plugs.
Removal of old roof and installation of new standing-seam metal roof.
Installation of new eaves and pruning of trees.


Phase 5: 2021-22
Fundraising Campaigns and Restorations
Campaigns for doors, windows, shutters, ceilings, lights, ceiling fans, and painting.
Funds collected for each project.
Successful refurbishment and re-installation of doors, windows, shutters, and ceilings.
Installation of lights, ceiling fans, and completion of exterior painting.
Phase 6: 2024-Current
Painting, Fence, and Landscaping
Local craftsman, Mr. Carl Mays continues to be contracted in the restoration of the schoolhouse. Soon, he will begin to paint the interior and restore the exterior stucco of the Schoolhouse.
In the next phase of the restoration, we will be installing a new fence, and gate, and will make improvements to the landscaping
